This peace memorial, located on the sidewalk by Wesley Church, commemorates the prayers from the children of CHOGM (Commonwealth Heads Of Government Meeting), held in Perth in early 2011.

The main plaque at its base explains:

The Children’s Peace Project gathered prayers for peace for CHOGM 2011 held here in Perth. Each of the ranches of the Tree of Life represent a Millennium Development Goal. The leaves bear the names of the 54 Commonwealth nations. Peace messages and prayers, contributed by the Commonwealth children, are displayed on the four sides of the plinth representing the four corners of the world. Churches on over 54 nations took part in the Commonwealth Prayer Initiative to build unity and cooperation across the nations.

To the left of this is a verse from the Bible:

Revelation 22:2 (NRSV)
through the middle of the street of the city. On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations.

The sculptor was Rod Laws.
