This stone peace cairn was erected in Bellahouston Park for the 1938 Empire Exhibition. It is made of blocks of stone, on which are engraved the names of the organizations and clans that attended the exhibition and were rightly concerned with the real possibility of war.
The modern steel globe on top was added in July 2004 and features ‘Peace’ in many languages. It was designed by Elspeth Bennie as part of the ‘Grounds for Play’ project.
