The Justitia Wall is part of the exterior of Bexar County Cadena Reeves Justice Center. It was dedicated in 2010.
The center vertical panel features a set of scales at the top followed by the word “Justitia”. Below the word is a wavy silver panel. At the bottom is:
IN HONOR OF THOSE WHO SERVED THE COUNTY OF BEXAR
The left panel has a text panel that starts with a quotation
“I have sworn to be a Texan, I shall not forswear.”
Jose Antonio Navarro, 1841
Followed by a text block:
All political power in inherent in the people, and all free governments are founded on their authority,
and instituted for their benefit. No citizen of this State shall be deprived of life, liberty,
property, privileges or immunities, or in any manner disfranchised,
except by the due course of the law of the land.
The right panel has a solid text panel in the middle that says:
Texas is a free and independent State, subject only to the Constitution of the United States,
and the maintenance of our free institutions and the perpetuity of the Union
depend upon the preservation of the right of local self-government, unimpaired to all the States.
Above and below both text panels are decorative circles and triangles.
The wall was created by San Antonio sculptor George Schroeder.
