The Dove of Peace was sculpted by Christophe Meko Bisengo to honor South African leader Nelson Mandela’s struggle for peace. It was unveiled in August 1991. The monument was originally in Mandela Square but was moved to the crossroads between Kisangani Avenue and Justice Avenue.
